How to Use Blekko to Rock at Your Job

A searchable collection of your industry's top blogs and websites allows you to quickly put any topic in context, based on what the most knowledgeable people in your field have written about that topic in the past.

I've built scores of Custom Search Engines, but the first one I put into production is something I call my Magic Search. It's a collection of 25 of the top Web 2.0 news and review blogs on the web - all our competitors here at ReadWriteWeb.

Fascinating article about Blekko - it's obviously a lot more powerful than I originally realised.

Marshall outlines his use of Google CSE (Custom Search Engines) to search a carefully selected group of expert websites on specific topics. Something I thought of doing for my Badminton website a while back, but of course not got round to it yet.

Well, Blekko is designed to produce such mini-search engines (using their slash tags), and you can even get an RSS feed off the searches. Hadn't occurred to me to use it in this way.

So this is a great tool for anyone writing about a narrow niche - e.g. for my badminton site I can gather a bunch of spots websites, search them for badminton (or badminton doubles, or even a specific player like Fu Haifeng) related content using Blekko, then subscribe to the results. Lots of possibilities!

Anyway, explained better by Blekko's creater.
